Try searching on some engineering subjects. The books you will find are old, but they look interesting. I am going to waste some serious time at home tonight. :)

If you do find any classics please list them - so far I've yet to find anything that would qualify as a classic, rather like reading old "Model Engineering" magazines.

Ah, here is the post. I found Timoshenko's _Theory of Vibrations_, 2nd ed ('37) in there.
 
I would call "A Manual of Civil Engineering" by Rankine a Classic.
