This is only preliminary moves in what will become a multi billion $$$ lawsuit but if there is more than a grain of truth in these allegations it will behoove all interested parties to be really doubtful about QA/QC on all chinese steel products.

Redpath is a worldclass mining contractor and their opinions should not be dismissed lightly

That may be the biggest, I’m not sure, but that certainly isn’t the first instance of inferior materials, manufacturing, engineering and QC coming out of China. When you do business with most any entity from China, you better plan a large budget for your own QC and on-site inspection and management of all materials, engineering and all other steps of the process. Then, all of a sudden, their low price and early delivery date don’t look so attractive any longer.
