If the wires from a rotating rectifier assembly to the main rotor of a three phase synchronous generator are reversed what is the effect on the line voltage of that generator ?

Many thanx in advance (hoping to avoid an embarrassing situation)

I believe it wouldhave no effect on voltage or phase sequence.

On a separately excited set or a Permanent Magnet Generator set there will probably be no effect.
If the set is self excited you may not get voltage build up. If you don't get voltage build up, flash the field with a DC source (automotive battery). You should have no further problems once you get voltage buildup. A self excited set depends on residual magnetism to build up voltage. A reversal in the field circuit (more commonly in the Automatic Voltage Regulator output) works against the residual magnetism. Once the residual is re-established in the correct direction there should be no more issues.
