Any Foundry engineers with experience of investment casting misrun reduction.Using Superalloy 713 and any experiences of reducing misruns with this alloy would be appreciated.
Thanks

Many factors could contribute to incomplete filling of mold cavity.
Low temperature (mold and metal), slow pour, inadequate gating, low mold permeability, gas evolution, low metal pressure (head).
Mold ceramic should be compatible with alloy 713.

I am agreed with the information provided by Goahead. However, I think you have to provide more information on part configuration, how many on the set-up? type of set-up, shell system. etc..
I had poured Inconnel 713 in air melt furnace at 1900°F mold temp and apprx. 2725°F metal temp and I never had any misrun or cold shut. The reason we did this because the Ti is 0.7 or 0.8 max. You may need air vent to help the air trap and this also increase the metal velocity.
