Missing command in toolbar (3Dexperience)

Hello,

At my company we are using CATIA V5 R28 and 3DExperience r2019. The CATIA-3DEXperience connector was installed for everybody, but however some of them has an Advanced Save with PDF command and some does not. Everybody is using the same connector version: 6.421.28.0. I tried to look for that command among all command list, but it is not visible to be able to add. How does that happen?

As a guess I'd look for some other software that is installed that adds that command to the toolbar.

it doesn't appear to come from Catia; at least Google isn't turning up any links to that "Advanced Save with PDF" and there's so much of the help files on-line now that I don't see how it would not be indexed; not saying it's not there, but I'd first compare other installed software.
 
Yes, I thought about too, I just did not have any idea after I took a look on installed apps. Moreover I am not sure which software could go into CATIA easily. I assume only Dassault softwares, but the only one which is installed into the client side are the 3DExperience launcher and the Connectore itself. Both of them are the same version of the problematic and not problematic computers. I just cannot go ahead. Google did not help me either in this topic, nor the 3DSwym where you can ask Dassault experts.

And the interesting is that the command is invisible even though for the person who has it. I mean I cannot add that command to another toolbar, however it must be there because in "native" 3DEXPERIENCE toolbar it is visible.
 
You may check on which Service Pack and Hotfix level is installed on each user's PC. Our VAR once instructed me that a lot of the functionality that is used by the 3DX connection is actually contained in the code for the V5 Service Packs and Hotfixes. The functionality does change between hotfixes.

The CATIA what they are using is the same, because CATIA runs from server, the user only needs the client side softwares, like CATIA launcher, connector, 3DX launcher. The hotfix of the connector also the same, because if those would not be the same, then they could not login to the 3DX db.

Yes, and it works, now finally the user has this Advanced save with PDF command. So somehow the solution is inside of the CATsettings, which it seems may set up outside of CATIA GUI, because in GUI I could not find anything.
BTW another problem come up for the user. After the CATSettings copy the language is now German, user change to English, even though he set it to English, after restart everything is German again. And his OS is in English as well. But that is another topic...

Where are your CATSettings saved? On a server or on your PC? If they are somewhere on the network, are they overwrite according to some rules? Did you talk with your CAD admin? Normally this has to be solved and known by this person.

I am the admin. :) However not as deep as I should be in CATIA admin stuff.

Both the user and ref CATSettings are saved to the server side. The interesting is that if I just set back the user's original CATSettings then his language keeps being English, but in this case the mentioned Advanced Save with PDF is missing of course. I assume some kind of CAA was installed for some users and it may allow commands to not being in the "CATIA all commands list". This could be an explanation because the ENOVIA V6 toolbar -- in which this Advanced Save with PDF is in -- can be deleted by a normal user (the button is active), so the toolbar was made by a user or some CAA\macro. For example the 3DExperience toolbar which is installed by the CATIA-3DEXPERIENCE connector cannot be deleted (button is inactive), I guess because latter is an official application by DS.

Regarding to the problem where CATIA does not memorize the language settings I also guess some kind of rules given by the system which overwrites some settings to get it back to default. The user's machine is in Germany, but he has never used it with German OS. So it is still a misery why it works with his original CATSettings and why not with his fellow coworkers' settings, who is also in Germany, and he also has never used Windows in German. May a simple copy past of the CATSettings folder is not enough, some other things need to set up. I am digging deeper in these topic, I found some guides about it.
