missing ctb

I was given a autocad drawing that I just edit/update. I was not give ctb file for this drawing. this drawing and ctb was done by someone else originally.

What can I do to print the drawing to its original ctb which I don't have and will never have.

How do I create a new ctb matching the correct lineweight for this drawing.

I don't suppose you can. UNLESS:

You know what standard they wrote the CTB to. By which I mean, what thickness centerlines, object lines, hidden lines etc should be. Then you could see what color each type of line is, and make a CTB to suit. Depending on what 'industry' these drawings are for, it could get really hairy. Especially if it's civil/site work. There's a crap load of line types and thicknesses in some dirtworker drawings I've seen.

Otherwise you'll just have to wing it and see how respectable you can make the drawing look with what you got.

Ask them to package the ctb with the autocad file like they should have done to start with.

Suggest the usage of "ETRANSMIT" in the future, as it'll solve other issues as well, that they may not realize exist. It'll pack all the 'dependent' files into a .zip archive for transmittal. You can check/uncheck files as desired.
