When exporting a drawing to either 2D IGES or DXF formats notes & symbols are not included in the exported file

This applies to 'Cut & Paste', 'Import-Linked' & 'Import-Unlinked' items such as Word, Excel & other dft files

When the DXF or IGES file is created, then imported either back into Solid Edge or into Pro/E the geometry & dimensions are there but none of the Imported or Pasted details

Is this the norm? if so how can you create a table on a drawing that will export other than to draw it line by line?

Running Version 12 at the moment

Anyone any ideas?

hi biggles2;

while saving the Solid edge files as .dxf file
you will see the Options button on save as dialog box; click it

then you will see the autocad translation wizard.

select the Autocad version as 2000 with

translate background sheet on export checked and
translate part layer names as autocad layers names checked

then click -> next

untill you get the

create a new configuration then

select Create a new configuration file and copy the seacad.ini file to the required location
then finish the wizard

save the .dxf file and check it:

please Note:

while in case of exporting in Iges format we cannot export the 'Import-linked' such as excel etc

we have tried it on solid edge 12 version with update 8;

bye take care
