Can I run the LED EXIT signs (Crouse-Hinds CCH UX..)in the same 120 VAC emergency circuit of HID fixtures (C-H VMVS..)? The circuit is fed by the emergency panel.
NEC 240.83(D) states "CB used as switches in HID circuits shall be listed and shall be marked as HID". Does this mean LED is not permitted in the sole HID circuit?
Thanks.

I wouldn't suggest switching the EXIT sign circuit. If you connect the EXIT sign to the same circuit as the HID, then switch them ON/OFF with the appropriately marked and listed breaker, you would be switching OFF the EXIT sign.

To answer the OP's question, it's fine to put LED lighting on an HID rated breaker. HID rating just means it was tested for endurance at a lower power factor.

But pay heed to HTNeighbors comment. If your HID fixtures are to remain on 24/7/365 along with the exit signs, remember to lock the breaker down. If you intend to switch those HID fixtures on and off, the exit signs need a separate circuit.

Best to you,

Goober Dave
