Hi!
I need to make an modal analysis of a bridge with cables. The cables have nonlinear geometry behavior, so I have to turn on non linearity.
To make a modal analysis i read that i need to activate prestress effects calculation. But when i do it, it says that i cant do a modal analysis with nonlinear geometric on.
I read too, in the Ansys help, that I need to use PSOLVE, instead of SOLVE, but i dont have PSOLVE because im using the PROFISSIONAL version.

well... help!! and thanks.

In ANSYS the modal analysis is treated as a linear analysis only. You can still have a non-linearity in your model (i.e. compression only contacts). But when you run the modal analysis the non- linearity will be ignored. (i.e. compression only contacts will be treated as bonded).
