I have been trying to create a FEA model for a plate using abaqus surrounded by spring. I was trying to extract the natural frequency for this plate. Among the modes shapes two are not satisfying the frequencies range. could anyone suggest what the issue. i tried to create the springs using spring dashpot with spring to grounds.

Which solver and version of Abaqus are you using ? Can you share the input file ?

am using ABAQUS 2022 students version with shell with lanczos solver.

Try with another solver. What is the difference between the maximum or minimum frequency in the requested range and the frequencies that you get and that are beyond that range ?

i havent set any range for frequencies, for forth and fifth mode shapes i was expecting 90 and 110 but am getting 70 and 83 at the same time rest of 4 modes are getting satisfied. tried changing solver to subspace still no change

All right, so it’s actually a matter of agreement with a reference solution. Is it analytical calculation ? Based on some particular book/document ?

The input (.inp) file should be sufficient but the .cae file might be even better. And please share the title of that article too, I will look for potential differences.
