Hi all.
I have to analyze the dynamic of a structure with dashpots, and I need to use modal superposition (the problem is linear and very large). The problem is that dashpots do not affect the result in this analysis type: ABAQUS is able to extract the undamped modes and to calculate the motion. But the solution is the same as an undamped structure.
Does anyone know how to overcome this problem? [I'm working with 6.5.1]
Thank you!
PS: I kown there are other damping methods, like Rayleigh or composite, but I need local dashpots...
