How is a half-sine shock impact load modeled in Cosmosworks? I have been able to model a "Drop Test" but the inputs are drop height, acceleration, and surface hardness (type), and orientation. I think friction effects on the surface can also be included. Is there a way to correlate such a study to typical shock input parameters of <x> g @ <y>msec?

I have also noticed that the Nonlinear load option allows the program to read in a time-based curve, but I cannot seem to edit it.

The load is: 100 g for 15 msec.

Mike,
Create a modal time history study.
Under external loads go to edit definition, select acceleration under type and 'g' for units.
Variation with time, select 'curve'.
A window pops up allowing you to define the half sin curve.
Select harmonic loading under type, set units to Hz and seconds.
Start time = 0
end time = .015 for your case.
amplitude = 100 (g)
frequecy = 33.33 Hz )1/(2*.015)

You can see the curve by selecting view.

Hope this helps,

Bob
