Dear ABAQUS users,

I am new user for abaqus, I need to model print process of 3D printing concrete using model change option in abaqus. According to my reading about this subject I found that the palsticity of this material must be modelled using mohr-coloumb model. but I am confused about the " cohesion yield stress, and ABS plastic strain" that is required in this model. please advise me how I can extract this data if I have the time dependent cohesion values of this material. Furthermore how I can model this material layer by layer using model change considering time dependent material properties.

Thanks

Interesting topic for a simulation. If you want to simulate the additive manufacturing process then it would be better to use new built-in special-purpose functionalities - event series, table collections, progressive element activation, moving heat sources and so on. They are much more efficient than *Model change if you want to add layers of material. They are meant primarily for metals and polymers but it shouldn’t be a problem to use concrete material.

When it comes to material constants for such advanced models, they are usually obtained from physical tests but you can also find them in research papers in cases of such common materials.

Thanks FEA way for your reply.

I need to use " Model Change " specifically as I need to validate my results with other works that were done using " Model Change " option. If you have experience in this option of ABAQUS I will appreciate your help in this regard. Now I am struggling to know how I can extract the cohesion yield stress and Abs plastic strain from Triaxial test results to provide ABAQUS model with them.

Thank you again
