Hi,

I am currently modelling a double skinned tank, that has a series of nozzles connected to the inner tank, but passes through (through a larger hole)the outer tank wall.

This means that the nozzles are not in initial contact with the outer tank wall.

I want to apply a load to the flange face of the nozzle and look at the deflection in the inner tank wall. I also want to see if the nozzles deflect sufficiently to rest on the inner ledge of the hole in the outer tank.

Currently when i load the model, the nozzle passes through the outer wall i.e does not make contact.

If a set the nozzle and the outer tank wall to be in contact, then the nozzle bends at that point.

Any suggestions? I would like the nozzle to deflect under load, until it comes into contact with the outer tank wall. Is this possible?

Thanks,

klt
