Modicon 984 force register value

I working with an older Modicon 984 and I know you can force discretes bits on/off but how do I force an analog register value that's attached to an AI.
I've tried the "Register Contents" "Edit Data" but the value gets over written with the real value coming in through the AI channel.
I'm using ProWorxNxt

Any help?
