Anyone have any experience with this type of PLC? It is connected to a Magelis pushbutton controller. The controller says communicating... It never get's past that. The operator of this machine said the battery light was lit or flashing on the PLC. He never contacted maintenance and when he left he shut the machine down. In my experience doesn't the PLC lose the program if the battery dies and the power turns off? This setup is on an ORT Roll Threader. Italian made. We have no program or even a wiring schematic for this. I'm thinking my options are limited to installing a new PLC and HMI. I don't want to spend $1300 for the software of the TSX Micro just for one machine. I guess I am asking for confirmation that it could have lost it's program through this scenario.
