Hi All;
I would not design a system this way but this is the current situation: I have a D-Y X-former with double lugs on the sec. feeding 2 gears. The first gear has a 5A cont. NGR. The second gear also has an NGR (2A cont.). I know I have 2 paths to ground since both are connected to the neutral point of the X-former. I am wondering if there is a way to keep both NGR’s – In particular, I do not have experience with modified differential and was wondering if it could be applied here.

Thanks.

You could keep one NGR and use an homopolar CT on each feeder. Why keep the 2 NGR's?

Thanks I will investigate. The end user wants to keep both in the event one of the gears is not online - the two serve 2 different and independent operations.

I was thinking to do nothing - The only issue I see with this is possibly alarming the fault from one of the gears in the other making it difficlut to find the source of the fault. Do you see any other issues with this?
