My vav coils are sweating, what are some possible causes?

Are you talking about a variable air volume box with an integral hydronic heating coil?

If your hot water coil is sweating, it means the coil surface is below the dew point of the supply air.

Can happen when cold air has been blowing fully on the valved-off coil, then the air temperature rises (perhaps room is satisfied and VAV damper goes almost shut, then room air migrates in there).

Solution: Fix your controls so they work properly, and open the heating coil valve back up. You should be able to operate the box at the appropriate supply air temperature without having to valve off the reheat coil.

Good on ya,

Goober Dave
