Hello.
Is it really required to put an expansion loop on a pipeline connected to the drain of a Molecular Seal of Elevated Flare (Guy Wired)?
The following are the condition of the pipeline connected to the drain:
NPS 3"
OT: Ambient
DT: 90C
Ambient: 55C
DP: 0.1MPa
Client wants us to eliminate the expansion loop of the drain pipeline due to the fluid inside the pipe that is very viscous and causes the line to be chocked during operation.

It would depend on the layout of the piping. The loop is designed to accommodate the thermal expansion of the pipe. There are also other ways that thermal expansion may be addressed such as expansion joints, etc.
