I am making a part out of Moly 361. Does anyone know a rough estimate at the minimum cross-section you can machine with this stuff (bought bulk, going to machine it down).

Are there any issues with cracking at thin Xsections (obviously at some point there is)? At what thickness?

No choice on which material to use -- Moly 361 is it.

Thanks!

If you don't succeed, try it with TZM and give the material an extra heat treatment before machining it, or better use vacuum melted (or arc cast) material if the part is extremely hard to machine. Try to get your mo material with a grain as fine as possible.

I hope these hints are helpful.
