I need to find the nominal moment capacity of a circular RC Section. I suspect that I may need to do some crazy iterations on strain compatibility until the strain I choose converges to the strain I solve for.

Any ideas? Anything in the ACI Code? Thanks.

I did that about 20 years ago. Just a few iterations, assuming a rectangular compression stress area. Close enuff for govt work.

Or go to the CRSI Handbook or the old PCA Column Design Tables and get the value for your section size, reinforcement and zero axial force.

I haven't really verified this, but try Enercalc.com...they have a demo version of their engineering library you can download for free. When you print-out anything, there is something to that effect "watermarked" all over the sheet. At least you get a quick answer.
