Monotonic - uniformly increasing, noncyclical loading. The confusion in terms is heightened by this post being made in the ACI Concrete forum. Monotonic loadings are generally quasi-static. That is, they are applied at a rate such that dynamic effects can be ignored. Upvote 0 Downvote
