thread578-369185
"I am using cadkey 19, and exporting to DXF for laser cutting. The drawings have 2 layers, one for the parts, one for text. The laser cutter does not recognize the CADKEY 19 text because it is not a vector font. Is this true? Can CK19 produce a vector font? Is there an add-in?"
I realize this thread is over a half a year old, but I just stumbled upon this forum.
One what to get the laser cutter to recognize the font it to "burst" (Edit/Entities/Burst) the text before exporting to dxf. (BTW, this works in the latest releases of KeyCreator also.) This basically turns the font into a "drawing" of the text. Breaking it down into simple lines & arcs.
What I do is create all the text in the same, unique color. Then, when I do the burst, I just choose 'All Dsp/By Type' and pick the color that I used for the text. Be aware, however, that to get the font down to it's simplest form you have to do the burst twice. I don't know why, but the first time only seems to break it halfway down.
