There was a writeup of the aircraft in Fly Past Magazine with pictures. Fly Past is a British Aviation Magazine dealing mostly woth WW2 and Korean war aircraft. Although they did mention some controversy over RAAF F-111's the goverment is trying to scrap.

According to Wikipedia, that is the only Mosquito in flying condition. The previous, only Mosquito in flying condition was RR299, and it was destroyed in a fatel crash.

The attached photograph was by me, at a London, Ontario airshow in 1988. This thing was flying then. It is now at a museum at Oshkosh.

I'm envious. I cannot wait to see one in person. According to the NZ dispatch this truly is the only flying example and was restored for a U.S. customer and the plane is destined for the States. My hope it is for one of our West coast flying museums or at least able to make the Planes of Fame air show this year where I can watch it. Also according to the TV spot where I first saw the plane being restored, they are prepping another and now have the ability to build a Mosquito from scratch much as the ME 262 has been re created.

No such luck evelrod,

wktaylor,

Kermit Weeks owns the Mosquito I photographed. I understand that it is kept in near flying condition.

Try Googling mosquito RS712.
