Admit to be totally astonished at this story having seen the Dam in recent headlines. Not a query of any sorts but simply an interest piece for digestion.
Quite what they are aiming to achieve by continuing the grouting for such a length of time I have no idea. At least one of the references cites the commencement of scheme to insert a 'concrete wall' presumably a diaphragm wall through the embankment and into non-soluble rock beneath. hopefully this will/is going ahead and will stabilize the structure.
A truly horrifying level of risk associated with this structure although I do wonder about some of the volume and flow calculations, Baghdad is an awful long way from the dam..........?
