Hello !

Can I set a motion to be performed until another joint reaches a certain angle ?

I'm going to say yes, but tentatively, as I don't remember coming across this. So you need to set a variable to the angle of the second joint, and then write a MOT statement for the first joint that uses that variable in some non linear construction, eg a STEP function. For instance here is a (made up, unchecked) time based motion, you need to use VARVAL(your variable), not TIME. In this case I've used a variable (10010) to control the joint motion. Note that in ADAMS you can have motion statement 10 controlling joint 10 using variable 10, all the 10s are different.

MOTION/10,JOINT=10,ROT
, FUNC=VARVAL(10010)

VARIABLE/10010
, FUNC=DTOR*IF(TIME-4: 0, 30, 15*TIME-30)

If this looks like gibberish then you probably need to read the Solver help.

hey thanx for the response !!!

can you just make a very simple model to illustrate, export it and upload it here ? I am a student and since we had no adams classes i have a hard time learning it... :/
