Greetings,

I have a dynamic motion simulation of a slider-crank mechanism that yields an unrealistic low driving torque for the desired motion (see linked .avi). I get as result a peak torque of 1200Nmm. Yet, I have matlab/Simulink and Inventor simulations that suggest a result of 60Nm. A huge difference.

I've checked every motion bodies's mass and inertia properties and they are all present. There are no redundant constraints.

Why is the driving torque so unrealistically low?

More info on the motion:
Minimum jerk profile at the load (2kg) with a frequency of 7,9Hz.
This motion is recalculated to shaft position in time and imported as a 2D profile driving the shaft.
