MotionView as a Pre-Processor for MSC.ADAMS

Hello,

I am currently comparing MSC.ADAMS pre and post processors. I sat in a presentation from Altair about using MotionView as a pre and post processor for ADAMS, instead of using what you get with the software, ADAMS VIEW.

Some Questions:
Does anyone have experience with both packages?
Which of the two would you recommend?
Which one is the industry standard?

I am new to ADAMS so any advice or insight you offer would be greatly appreciated. This matters to me becauase I need to decide whether to be trained on MotionView from Altair or ADAMS VIEW from MSC.

yes, I use ADAMS and mview every day, and VIEW once in a while

Both

Which industry? For many industries there are so called vertically indicated front ends, and they are much better than trying to build your own models from scratch. But, if you are designing unique mechanisms they may not be much help to you.

I use a modified version of ADAMS/Chassis for most of my model building, and MVIEW for most of my post processing. I had a look at the model building inside MVIEW, it looks OK, but does not offer the range of diagnostics that VIEW gives you.

Oh, what platform are you running on?
