Hi all
I got a 3 phase Doubly fed induction motor 7,5KW,230V/400V,50 Hz, rated rotor current 27A. I used 1 converter to control motor, connected to the Rotor side, start connection. In between motor and converter, I would like to use a Crowbar, and a Switch (0-1-2). The crowbar is for motor protection, using 1 6 pulse rectifier and a thyristor, that is fired by the DC out of the bridge.
The motor will work as a generator that connect to Grid from the Stator side. A DC Motor will drive the shaft.

The converter parametters are: 36KW, rated input current 56A.

Can any one tell me how to chose the right diode bridge and thyristor to protect motor ?

Thanks

Question: Is the diode bridge and thyristor for the crowbar 16 pulse rectifier and thyristor? Why 16 pulse? Why not 18 pulse?

Hello

That is not a 16 pulse rectifier. Let say, that is a 6 pulse rectifier. Sorry for that !

Suggestion: It will be better to select a diode bridge manufacturer and have it sized by the tech support. There are various subtleties when it comes to bridges and modular circuits, in general.
