Motor Transfer - Drive to Line

When a 4160 V motor is started by an AC Drive, and the AC Drive is used to start other motors as well, then the motor must be transferred from the AC Drive to the main power. My concern was that the motor must be disconnected from the AC drive before transferring to the main. That would seem to require a fast bus transfer. Does that sound reasonable approach?

You have an excellent concern there. You would need a synchronized transfer method.

Get an AC drive that has a bypass contactor. Let the drive bring the motor up to speed and have the drive go to bypass. That will have the drive do the synchronization. Once the motor is on bypass, you should be able to then close another contactor, and drop the drive. Once you drop one motor you can use the drive to start the next.
