Hi guys, I’ve been asked to design a mount for a manual winch to pull wooden pallets laden with approximately 800kgs of product across a plastic conveyor ONLY for times if the pallet gets stuck. Currently the warehouse team are attaching fibre straps and pulling them off with a FLT, the warehouse manager wants to move away from this practice (safety grounds), does anyone have any practical solutions for a mount/post to attach the manual winch to.

How does the pallet move normally?

Some sort of pallet wheely truck would be much lower risk surely??

I think this is the tail wagging the dog here.

Quantify the pull force and apply a generous service factor. Come back with a force value, height of winch force above floor level (if you are mounting this to a slab), or some information on what the winch mounts to and you'll probably get better suggestions. Based on not solving the conveyor problem, good luck with this.
