I am curently using Wildfire 2.0 and ever since i installed, I have not been able to use the mouse to pan or spin the model. I can use the middle mouse button to zoom in and out, but to reorient the model, I have to go into dynamic orient mode, and can then rotate, and pan. Up to this point, it was only an annoyance. But, now I am trying to do dimensioning on a drawing of a part, and you need to be able to "click" with the middle mouse button in order to place a dimension on the drawing. I have tried updating the drivers for the mouse, and even tried using a different mouse, all to no avail. I believe at this point it is a problem/setting within PRO E. Please help, this is becoming very frustrating.- DREW

Is your middle mouse button set to turn AutoScroll in the driver settings? That sometimes makes Pro/E think that you are using a scroll wheel, and not a mouse button.

(Sorry I pressed submit post by mistake)

The driver setting should explicitly say Middle Mouse button. Mine had to be set up the same way, too.

A good solution is a mouse with a scroll wheel, since you have the best of both worlds- the ability to spin and zoom with a single button. I use a 5 button mouse (2 top + 2 on the sides + scroll wheel) and use the side buttons as Shift and Control - so I don't need the keyboard at all to orient the model.

thanks for the suggestions- but one question: where do i modify the driver settings?

In Windows, the driver settings are in the Mouse settings in the control panel.

Typically there is a tab that says "Buttons", and allows you to select what each button does. If my middle mouse button is set to AutoScroll in this menu, the same things happen as you mentioned above.
