I create family parts sometimes. We will get solid bodies of components from companies and I will use move face to adjust the bodies for different order strings.
For instance, if a shot pin can have 25, 50, 75 or 100 strokes, I will take the same bodies for them all and move faces to get the different strokes. Then in the family part I will use the expression for that move face to change the distance the faces move depending on which family member is created.
However, we recently moved up to NX1872 from NX11 and I find that if I turn off the move face feature in the model history, it automatically turns off the body the move face is connected to. In NX11 it left the body on but just moved the face back to its original position. If it turns off the body, it makes it a lot more difficult to see exactly which move face I am looking at to know which expressions I need and I cant visually see the change so I can be sure I have the motion correct. It also worries me that if a family part needs to be created with the faces in the original position, in the past I could just place "NO" to the feature in the spreadsheet. Will it now turn the body off if it creates a family part that says to not use the move face feature?
Is there a setting somewhere that will allow the body to stay on when I turn off the move face feature?
