Hi all,

Cant find the proper way to use Move Object command. For eg., I want to move objects which exists in specific layer/layers. Move Object dialog seems do not have selection filter, or am I missing smth?

Thanks.

It works better for me to select the item(s) that you want to move first, and then activate the move command.

Yes it works... I just got used to old style transform dialog, where there was a posibility to use selection filter "inside" transform dialog.
In my opinon it is not very handy at first use filter for desirable objects, and then use move object command.

If you want to move an object from layer to layer, try using:
Edit->Object Display or Format->Move to layer

If you want to move an object from point to point, etc (actual location move), the selection filter is in the selection toolbar, icon has a red square and a crosshair in it. It does detailed filtering including layers and colors.

A screen shot has been uploaded.

You can filter on layer 'inside' the command by using the selection bar filters as shown in claireandmabel's screenshot. However, this filter seems more limited as you can only filter on 1 layer (or all, no filter), where in the old style dialog you could choose multiple layers to filter (such as all objects on layers 1, 2, and 7).

To cowski:

hm... I can use object filter "inside" new move object command. So at first choose move object command, then press General selection filters->detal filtering and select layers you want (eg. 5,7,20). That works.

It was easier to switch between "inside", "inside & crossing" . . . , in earlier versions of NX, and I really don't know why it was made so difficult - as far as I know it can only be changed under "Preferences".

All you have to do is edit the Selection Bar content and ADD the item that's labeled 'Multi-select Rule'.
