Hi all,

New to UG, hence what might be a silly question. Trying to get used to the whole sketcher enviroment. Using UG for yacht design and we ofthen have to draw on a curved surface (recess for winches etc.). How can I specify a datum plane perpendicular to the local surface, and once I've got that - if I want to move the sketch, whats the best method? Can you just make a new datum plane then re-attach the sketch to the new plane??

Thanks for the help (I hope!)

Matt

If you want a datum plane perp to a surface you will ned to make a section through it and a then decide where on that curve you want to have your datum plane.

Yes you can reattach the sketch on an other datum plane

regarding reattaching the sketch to the new datum, make sure you reorder the datum before the sketch....
