Trying to come up with a demolition plan for a 20 year old MSE wall with severe corrosion of internal metal straps. The wall facing is wire mesh and the wall is 13m high. Looking for some advice on sequencing of demo activities or what potential issues may arise. We were thinking of removing soil from the face down to the straps, cutting straps with shears at the facing unit, and then remove facing. The process would continue along the entire length, one lift at a time.

thanks for the report

I assume that you would need to remove more than just the wall facing. Without the facing, you should also lose the fill material that was originally placed in layers between the straps. Demolition should be done in the reverse order of the wall's construction. Start at the top and work down. However, if temporary sheeting was required behind the wall to build the wall, you may need new temporary sheeting to demolish the wall.
