MSME online - Villanova

Has anyone completed or currently enrolled in the MSME program from Villanova online?

I am considering applying but I am not sure how difficult the classes will be. They say it is geared towards working professionals, but I would rather hear that from someone isn't just trying to get my money!

Is the ME 7000 course difficult? I haven't taken Diff Eq. for years, and I have never had to use it for anything outside of school.

I also thought about doing a different masters degree (environmental?) My undergrad is ME.

Any thoughts?

I'm not so sure I'd recommend it, unless you'll be using it everday, or would just like to beef up your resume. I took the Project Management Cert. class from Villanova during a lull in my employment. I recommend the online format as a whole, and use the project management skills at work now, but if the curriculum isn't something you use every day, I'm not sure how well it's gonna 'stick.'

I wouldn't really recommend it either. I started going for one and after speaking with a few professors and colleagues decided to switch to an engineering management masters. The mechanical master's is very theoretical and unless you are going to be doing research, you will most likely never use it. I mean I took the graduate dynamics course and everything was in 3D and rotating in multiple coordinate systems and reference frames. I have no idea when I would ever use that. Most of the other classes I took were the same.

Also, as a fellow ME grad, I would not suggest the environmental stuff. The company I work for is mostly environmental and civil people. My boss and I do their pumps and piping when they need it. That work is pretty boring in my opinion.

My advice (from someone who was in your shoes about 1 year ago) figure out what you love to do and where you think your career is headed. If you think you'll be a PM someday, a MBA or something like that may be for you or whatever other direction you think you want to go.

Sorry for the long winded answer, I just have some recent experience trying to figure out what I wanted to do in a similar situation haha.
