I have few issues for the designing Liquid Mud & Brine System for one of my project is ANCHOR HANDLING TUG CUM OFFSHORE SUPPORT VESSEL. I need you guys experienced knowledge to choose our valves and fitting ratings to suit this project. Mud pump max. Delivery pressure is 90m. Whereas S.G. of mud liquid is 2.5.

1. What should be the Design/Working Pressure for above mentioned system remembering S.G. of mud/brine is 2.5?

Pump Specification:
LIQUID MUD PUMP & BRINE WATER CARGO PUMP - MISSION MAGNUM/4x3x13 (PUMP QUIP ENGIN.), HORIZONTAL CENTRIFUGAL PUMP (S.G.:2.5), CAPACITY: 150/75m³/hr x 90/22m, 186kw/24kw, 3500/1750rpm

2. What should be the pressure relief valve (V12) setting pressure remembering S.G. of mud/brine is 2.5? See attached drawing for illustration

3. Do we require any Low Level Alarm for Mud Tank?

All answers are greatly appreciated.

Well, to be honest Cockroach, you can run pumps dry. But usually only once and after that they don't work real well. [bigsmile]
