Multi-Axis turning (turning about two non parallel axis) 1

I am looking for a technique, machine, or part (e.g. collet) that would allow me to turn a rod about at least two non parallel axis. Does anyone know of one and could point me to the right direction? What I am trying to get is a single cross section at a different orientation (<10 degrees). It would be similar to bending a rod (except I can't bend it).

Look up turning between offset centres.

You could put a 'blank' collet in a mill and bore a new hole, offset and/or skewed from the nominal center.

OR
You could run the cross slide from a crank geared to the spindle. At 1:1 you get an offset circle. At other integral ratios you get polygons, sort of.

OR
You could just mill whatever you can dream of in a 3-axis CNC mill with a rotary axis added.

As MikeHalloran suggested, you can simply CNC mill the surface using a 4th axis. Or you could also CNC mill the surface on a 3-axis machine using two set-ups.
