hello all

we have 3 session in our factory with completely different activities on solidworks ...

so every session must have it's admin and clients ...

so is it possible using just 1 pdm service and 1 computer for vault data , but have 3 admin which shouldn't see themself in pdm.

really I want to not have admin permission equal for 3 admin so i can use 1 server for all.

If it's not possible , is it possible to use 1 server for every session but link between them so clients could access other session project if that admin permit them ?

Yes with PDM Works you can have as many users’ names as you wish. I have a name for me in the PDM as administrator, as designer, and as drafter. Also another PDM login for me as administrator that is set up for doing batch check-ins. I use the same password for all.
To let your clients see the vault you would need something like Web portal.

Bradley is right. We have 3 admin's and ~15 users, tool designer and machine shop. They are all set up with different privileges. Login to your PDMWorks VaultAdmin and change the settings to your liking.

hello again
maybe I wrote badly ...
really there is 3 session : session1 , session2 and session3
there are diffrent from each other.
so thay have 3 admin : admin1 admin2 and admin3
and their clients : clients1 , clients2 and clients3
and they own servers : server1 , server2 and server3

1st question is : how can I merge 3 servers without any other affection ? (because of limitation of hardware existance and back up processing it's better to have just 1 server)

2nd question is : I want a master administrator in vault so he can permit middle administrators to define their clients ..
e.g: master admin defdines 3 admin ,
every admin define it's clients and permission ..
but the admins can't omit other admin , really they even can't see another admin in vault ...

Best regard

Sound to me like it is time to get your VAR “Value added Reseller” involved. It would be cheaper than making a mistake that you may have to pay for later.

To merge 3 data bases into one. If none of the servers have any common data your job will be easier. SolidWorks PDM has a balk check-in that works well.

I do not have an answer for question number 2. We rely on trust, that an administration person does not omit other admin’s.
