Our company manufactures industial machinery with 1-4 ac motors ranging from .5 hp to 25 hp. These machines are not currently factory wired. Several customers are requesting that the motor wiring (from all 4 motors) be brought to a terminal block in a central junction box to make it easier for the on site electricians. Is this allowable according to the NEC or NFPA 79?

The motors would all be on separate circuits. Someone told me that separately disconnected circuits cannot run through one junction box according to NFPA 79.

That might be true if you were bringing multiple external power sources to the skid, but even then I'm not sure.

But as I understand what you are trying to do, all of the motor circuits are powered from your control panel and killing power to that will de-energize all of these motor circuits?

I don't see a problem with that, but I'm not a NFPA 79 expert.

I am concerned because we don't provide the control panel and so I can't say with certainty that they will all be connected to one control panel.
