Multiple View Design Table 1

Hi All,

I have many parts with 50+ configurations. The drawings for those parts often span multiple sheets. I have been inserting the design table on sheet 1 and having all other pages refer to sheet 1 for notes, dimensions, tolerances etc. My company wants to change and show the relavent part of the design table on each sheet to eliminate mistakes with cross referencing. The problem is that I can't seem to create multiple unique views of the design table in the drawings. For example, if I show the first 10 rows and 5 columns on sheet 1 then that is the only view that I can insert onto sheet 2. If I try to change the view on sheet 2, then the view on sheet 1 changes as well. I need to maintain the property links so I don't think that a general table is an option. I've checked the forums and this question has been asked but never adequately answered. Anyone have a any ideas? I'm on SW 2008 SP3.1. Thanks!

I don't believe it can be done directly with the inserted DT.

Why not show the full DT on each sheet? The relevant portion of the DT can be highlighted by drawing a rectangle around it.

Thanks for the reply. I tried that however the design table is so big that if we did that, we would have to either shrink the text down so small that it's barely readable or allow it to take up the majority of the sheet. Isn't there any way to different rows on different sheets?

Alternatively, is there some way to link a general table to specific areas of a design table?

A horrible long-winded workaround;

Create the DT as per normal
Save that DT to an external spreadsheet (ES)
Delete the original DT
Create a new DT linked to the ES
Create copies of the ES which pulls the data from the original ES
Manipulate those ES copies to suit each Config group
OLE insert the ES copies to the relevant sheets

NOTE: The original ES is now the controlling spreadsheet for ALL the DTs.
