I have had problems w/ several AutoCAD 2000 drawings containing multiple viewports. When the drawing is first opened, all the layers that should appear based on saved layer states in the layermanager are visable. A plot preview also shows correctly. After plotting however, all orsome of the viewport contents do not plot. Repeating the steps now shows the incomplete viewports. Typically these drawings are composed of several x-refs in model space. I am careful to have layer zero current when insertting the x-refs. Most of the x-refs w/ the exception of the title block & border are overlayed. Any help that can be provided would be great.

A few suggestions:
1. Make sure that Visretain is set to 1.
2. Autocad 2000 has a maximum number of viewports...I think the number is 64. In version 14 the number is 16.
3. You may be exceeding the capacity of your plotter. Check the RAM.

Thanks for the help Ron - I'll look at these items. I think the problem is in the computer end not in the plotter end though. Typically our "plotted sheets" only have at most 10 or 12 viewports. I'm wondering if our consistant layer names in both the "plotted sheet" and the x-refs that make up the actual bulk of these sheets are creating some kind of "circular referens" w/o our knowing it - I'm trying to investigate that also.
