Mutual induction between cable and string PV

An atmospheric discharge induces an overvoltage in the U cable, which in turn induces an overvoltage in the loop constituted by the string below and its connections to the inverter. There have been several breakdowns. There are SPDs, DC and AC.
The U cable is all resting on the string. The owner of the PV believes that the faults are due to the overvoltages induced on the cable and from this to the loop of the string. I think they are due either to the connections of the SPDs, which however have always remained intact. What does you think?

I am not specialist in lightning protection of electronic devices .My domain is Power Station and High voltage substation.
I prefer the USA standards as NFPA 780. However, IEC 62305 Protection against Lightning Part 4 electric and electronic systems within structures chapter 6 Magnetic shield and line routing may be useful in this case.
