MV Switchgear Control Power Choice

For a medium voltage switchgear lineup, in a typical industrial or commercial setting. I tend to prefer a DC Battery Bank providing control power to the MV Breakers Close & Trip & Charge, and Protective Relaying Power (assuming digital relays).
This for reliability and dependibility, perhaps not economics.
I know there is alot of talent on this board. Does anyone like to see something else, and why?

Recommended for you

125VDC controls are the most common and easiest to find replacement parts for. Something most people do not consider.
 
If the end user is comfortable with a battery system, including required periodic maintenance, then I agree that station battery is the best approach if high reliability and operating flexibility is a requirement.
