Uh oh. The tech report servers now put up a message that states:

naca.larc.nasa.gov
ntrs.nasa.gov
The NASA technical reports server will be unavailable for public access while the agency conducts a review of the site's content to ensure that it does not contain technical information that is subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations and that the appropriate reviews were performed. The site will return to service when the review is complete. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Anyone who relied on that service may have to find alternatives. This has happened before, but this message implies that some "sanitization" may be occurring. It may not be the same when (if) it comes back. FYI the Assist and DTIC websites are still working. ( So "some" NACA and NASA reports can be found, if you're willing to work harder to find them.

That's been going on for a while; I'm tempted to say that it's at least a year since I last had direct access. The NACA report site is still available in the Wayback Machine, though:

It's too bad that a lot of very interesting and useful info can be found in old reports that should not by now be of any concern wrt export issues.

This is ironic....

The UK mirror-site of the old NACA reports page is still up, too.

Thanks IRstuff for the link to the web.archive.

Sequestration? Maybe the folks at Langley can get another band-aide with
the folks at FAA? The POTUS is trying to piss off the general public and
point to those nasty Elephants out there before the 2014 mid-terms.

Noooo... That not so? [pipe]

The servers are back up. I heard that they returned everything that had been reviewed for ITAR compliance, and that they will be slowly reviewing and returning everything that had not.

I've heard (from nasawatch) that they removed a bunch (85% !?) of the reports (and from the NACA site, though maybe not from the mirror)
