hello members

FOR SOUR SERVICE Our client specification stipuilates "Material shall meet the requirementsof Nace MR0175/ISO15156"
The material test certificate does not have this confirmation statement as above but the chemical properties and hardness values are meeting the requirement of Nace MR0175.

Can the material be accepted without the statement on the certificate??

Thanks

Sree

If you can verify that it meets the requirements, of course it can be accepted. The client specification does not require certification of acceptability. For carbon steel, you will be OK with hardness, nickel content and heat treatment condition. For corrosion resistant alloys, where there are environmental criteria as well as material property criteria, nobody is going to certify the material anyway because they will not have knowledge of the environment.

Thanks Mr Jones for your feedback. The materials in question are SS316L grade which are used for internals in process vessels under sour service.
