I'm looking for documentation on the .nas file format so I can write a simple translator to get 2 different FEA packages to share mesh files.
I am having zero success with a google search so any help with links to web pages ftp sits etc would be most helpful.
TIA
Mark

Why don't you use Femap's translator?

It speaks to many codes.

The best recommendation is to either purchase the Nastran Quick Reference Guide, or else use a pre-processor to reverse-engineer the format. This is not as simple of a task as it would seem--different codes have fundamentally different element formulations, and mapping them in a general sense is nontrivial.
