Sep 12, 2006 #2 ivymike Mechanical Nov 9, 2000 5,653 (k/m)^0.5 Where k and m may be more difficult to calculate... k can perhaps be estimated by looking up deflection of a flat plate under localized loading (Roark). Pay attention to the edge conditions! m can perhaps be estimated by adding an allowance for plate mass to the mass of the engine. Might be easier to use FEA. Upvote 0 Downvote
