To all, thanks in advance for the advices.
I'm now working on a warehouse in australia and the client/archi wants to hv a natural vent. without any fan inplace for exhaust.
idea is we make an openning on ground level for makeup air and have some chimney like openning with cap for stopping rain on roof.
my question is, without any fan assistance, i can't see any factors that favor the flow pattern from low level to roof, considering the warehouse only 5m in height.
however, this isnt any problem as long as the opening comply with code for natural vent, regardless whether it works.
my bigger concern is, because these chimney are served as smoke exhaust as well, and we'd like to exhaust without any fan assistant, only by the mean of hot risen air and draw outside air through low level louver. I couldnt find much information about sizing the chimney volume, louvers.
this warehouse is 6300 sqm in area and 5 m in height. we're trying to get all exhaust through 3 chimney like structure with cap on roof. just wondering if anyone has come over with this situation, eg sizing the chimney volumn, louvers as well as the effect comes from the temp difference at smoke mode. much appreciated for the ideas.
